Frequently Asked Questions relating to Covid-19

If, due to government restrictions, you cannot travel to the UK for your course with Discovery Summer,
you may cancel with a full refund of fees, less bank charges, before 1 May 2023.
Alternatively, you may hold over fees for a 2024 course.
Discovery Summer must be informed in writing by this date.

Whilst we hope to run the courses as published, we reserve the right to amend the programme in response to any changes to Covid-19 government guidelines.

Whilst our standard Terms and Conditions apply, we reserve the right to amend these should an unforeseen situation arise (Section 8, h).

Residential courses


Frequently Asked Questions:

✔ Yes. Discovery Summer will offer a full refund, less bank charges, or you may choose to roll over your fees to Summer 2024.

✔ Yes. This is not an expense that may be claimed under Medical Expenses in our insurance policy.

✔ Yes. Discovery Summer staff, supported by a nurse as required, will care for your child with Covid-19 at all times, as they do with any other illness. Emergency treatment and a doctor/NHS helpline is available 24/7 to help with any medical concerns. Students will be supervised, and isolated from other students.

✔ Yes. You may claim under our medical and travel insurance policy. Medical reports will be required.

✔ Yes. if you cancel and inform us in writing before 1 May 2023 we will refund full fess, less bank charges. Alternatively, you may hold over fees for a 2024 course.

NB You cannot claim on the insurance policy at any time, if you do not follow the latest government (foreign or UK) travel advice.

✘ No. This claim would not be accepted under the insurance policy, nor would a refund be due from Discovery Summer.

✘ No. Discovery Summer's standard Terms and Conditions would apply.

NB It is not possible to make an insurance claim for 'disinclination'.

✘ No. Following current government guidelines, the wearing of masks is not obligatory. However, students may choose to wear a mask.

We have a duty of care towards all staff and students and are 'strongly encouraging' anyone who is able to be vaccinated, to do so.

Day courses - London


Frequently Asked Questions:

Students attending our 'day' courses in London (Collingham and Marymount) are NOT covered under the Discovery Summer medical and travel insurance.

We strongly recommend you take out your own medical and travel insurance policy before departure.
