Classes are held in an impressive building on six floors, 5 minutes' walk from Gloucester Road and Earl's Court Underground Stations. It is in a safe residential area.

Adults and juniors are taught in separate classes in the same building. Parents can either study with us or enjoy free time.

ADULTS: 18+ years | HALF DAY

Levels: beginners to advanced

  • 15 hours' tuition per week (09:00 -12:30h or 13:30 -17:00h) Monday to Friday. Afternoon classes subject to demand
  • Maximum class size: 10 students
  • A needs analysis is carried out before the course
  • Classes are lively and fun whilst covering grammar, reading, writing, speaking, listening and pronunciation. There is an emphasis on spoken communication and a focus on real world day-to-day topics
  • Relax in our cafe at break-time
  • Optional weekly afternoon or evening family social events (at extra cost) e.g. dine in local restaurants, games in the park, Thames River cruise, West End musical.

JUNIORS + TEENS: 5 - 17 years | HALF DAY

Levels: beginner* to advanced


* Beginners accepted from 5-10 years only
  • 15 hours' tuition per week (09:00 -12:30h or 13:30 -17:00h) Monday to Friday. Afternoon classes subject to demand
  • Maximum class size: 12 students
  • Task-based classes are lively and fun. There is an emphasis on improving spoken English whilst learning new grammar and vocabulary . Each Monday you begin a new project linked to the weekly museum visit. For examples see here
  • A highlight of the week is the study visit with your teacher to one of the Kensington museums (Science, Natural History, V&A), Design Museum, Kensington Palace, a 20-25 minute walk away
  • 5-6 year olds are only accepted if their parent/guardian is studying with us or stays at the school until their child is settled. They do not go on study visits; instead they'll be learning English through fun activities on site

TEENS: 13 - 17 years | FULL DAY

Levels: elementary to advanced

  • Teens selecting a full day programme (09:00-17:00h) follow the same the half-day morning programme as Juniors, plus afternoon activities and excursions
  • 3 afternoons per week: explore London with your teacher. Visits include e.g. Tower Bridge, guided tour of Houses of Parliament, Thames river cruise and more
  • 2 afternoons per week: activities on site e.g. art & design, team building, research and create an historic London timeline
  • Bring a packed lunch every day and a Zone 1 Travel/Oyster Card

TEACHING PROGRAMME (JUNIORS + TEENS)

Improve your English skills through

Task Based Learning

  • Through Task Based Learning you learn by creating, making, collaborating and discussing. It's a fun way to learn new vocabulary and grammar while improving your reading, writing, listening and, most importantly, your speaking skills
  • A little homework is set each day.

A typical week at Collingham

  • You will be sent a written placement test to do online before arrival
  • On Monday morning you'll be given an oral grading test and placed in class where you begin your project
  • Museum visits take place on Tuesdays or Wednesdays
  • During the museum visit you'll research information related to your project
  • You'll work with other students in small, multi-national groups to complete your project
  • On Fridays your parents are invited to the presentations. You'll gain confidence, develop presentation skills and share your learning with your family
  • Your progress is reviewed each week. The following week you will learn new vocabulary with a different themed project
  • When you finish the course, you'll receive an end-of-course report, Discovery Summer certificate and class photo.

Kensington Palace Questions for a Queen Interview Queen Victoria about schools and education and then tell her about your school. What questions do you think she'd have about education in 21st century?
Design Museum Powerful packaging From Cornflakes to Coca-cola, explore what makes eye-catching packaging that is also environmentally friendly.
