Teaching Programme
On our English & Multi-Activity courses the teaching programme is split between English Skills and
English Workshops (for details of our other programmes , see each course centre page). You'll have two teachers to accustom
you to different teaching styles and accents.
English Skills
On arrival you'll be tested, graded and placed in a class at the appropriate level. Our curriculum is based on the Trinity Exam in Spoken English.
Our structured English classes will help you improve your grammar, vocabulary,
reading, writing and listening skills with an emphasis on improving your confidence in spoken English.
By keeping a diary contributing to our centre blogs you'll be improving your written skills too.
Our maximum class size is 14 international students. English children (Student Hosts) also participate in most classes.
During the course your progress is monitored. Each week you'll have a learner review. At the end of your course, you'll be tested and presented with a Discovery Summer Certificate,
end-of-course report and course photo.

We offer classes at many levels. Our level guide on each centre page will help you choose the most appropriate centre.

Trinity Exam in Spoken English
This is optional and offered at extra cost (£80). This oral exam has 12 levels; your class teacher will decide which level you will take.
Exams take place subject to sufficient demand. We strongly recommend you take this exam to gain an internationally valid certificate. It will also give real focus to your English studies.
Special preparation classes are provided before the exam. Each year our students achieve excellent results!
Activity Programme
Our after-class afternoon activities vary day by day. We offer a wide variety to cater for different interests and abilities. (See the Sports and activities grid
for details of activities at each centre).
Most evening activities involve all the students. Each evening we organise one or two events e.g. team challenges, talent shows, entertainments, discos, karaoke, casino nights, murder mysteries - and many more!
Excursions are organised to show you the best of Britain: cities, castles, museums, galleries, theme parks and,
of course, there'll be some time for shopping! Before the excursion you'll research your destination in class to get the most out of your trip.
