English Skills

On arrival you'll be tested, graded and placed in a class at the appropriate level. Our curriculum is based on the Trinity Exam in Spoken English. Our structured English classes will help you improve your grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening skills with an emphasis on improving your confidence in spoken English.

You'll usually have two teachers so as to get accustomed to different teaching styles and accents.

By keeping a diary contributing to our centre blogs you'll be improving your written skills too.

Our maximum class size is 14 international students. English student hosts also participate in most classes.

During the course your progress is monitored. At the end, you will be tested and presented with a Discovery Summer Certificate, end-of-course report and course photo.

English Workshops

These 'English in Action' sessions are led by classroom teachers, assisted by Activity Leaders. You may choose to research and present Discovery TV, film a music video, create a photo story using PowerPoint, write and design a course magazine, perform in a drama or dance production and even learn how to make pizza and cakes!

Trinity Exam in Spoken English

The Trinity Exam in Spoken English is optional and offered at extra cost (£60) at all our English + Multi-Activity centres (except Marymount). This oral exam is offered at 12 levels; your class teacher will decide which level you will take. Exams are offered every two weeks, subject to sufficient demand. We strongly recommend you sit this exam as you will gain an internationally valid certificate. It will also give real focus to your English studies.
